RIGTRAIN CENTRE

RIGTRAIN facility provides a training centre, four test bore holes and two land rigs giving the capability of real time operations.

RIGTRAIN currently has ten classrooms and is doubling its catering services, car parking capacity increased and two new instructors employed to bolster the centre's 11 strong team of professional trainers.

The centre's instructors each with a minimum 15 years of offshore operational experience - teach drilling and well intervention techniques in line with the changing needs off-shore.

The trainers are continually developing course content in line with changing needs in the industry. They also have a network of suitably qualified and experienced consultants for additional support. RIGTRAIN's good ratio of trainers to delegates ensure a high level of personal attention on the course and helps towards RIGTRAIN's objectives of 'Learning Through Understanding'. Preparing a candidate to successfully pass a test is only part of the process and it is far more important for us to develop candidates knowledge through specific training in the classroom and on the simulators and test rigs to enable them to improve or maintain performance levels safely in the offshore environment.

To develop understanding and create a high degree of realism RIGTRAIN use rig floor simulators with real time, real size panels and a brake handle that re-creates offshore conditions accurately.

The NEW Driling and Workover simulator gives practice on drilling techniques and how to respond to downhole pressure situations while drilling. The portable version, has an identical capacity and can be used to provide training anywhere in the world.
